Hey!! This week I will be writing about three things I learned in media this year. For one, audio is very important. Two, deadline are important. And three, creativity is key. I hope to pass these three lessons onto new students.
Audio. It might not seem like a big deal but it is. Using a rhode mic is VERY IMPORTANT. Don't ever rely on your camera to get audio. Because it does not sound good. At all. You really really really have to use another mic. Just please, take my word for it and don't learn the hard way.
Deadline. Mr. M will tell you this all the time but its important. In media and the real world deadlines are important. As for regular class they will affect your grades, but other things like STN will really teach you a lesson. If you try to turn in a late project at STN, they will not take it. And all the hard work (and probably tears) you just put in for 6 hours WILL BE WASTED. Be smart... meet the deadline.
Creativity. This is very very important. Think about it. If you have a boring video no ones going to want to watch it. Be interesting, get unusual angles, spice it up. Add some background music, or some jokes in your voice over. Make your video worth watching.
I learned these things the hard way, but it was a good experience. I really loved being in media this year and I am glad that I got to be apart of this family. Good luck to all of the new kids!!
