Hola!! This weeks free blog is about the Iphone 7 plus. Ok, so its not that "new" anymore but it is still relevant. Anyways the iPhone 7 plus has 2 CAMERAS!! 2!! Isn't that kinda cool? Anywyas I'm not quite sure why there is 2 but I know it improves the quality of the pictures you take. Although I don't have an iPhone 7 plus i think that these can be really helpful when taking good quality pictures on the go.
Hola!! This weeks blog topic is about THIRD QUARTER PROJECTS!! I AM VERY EXCITED. Our third quarter projects are PSA's (also known as public service announcements.) I will also be woring on this project completely alone. Scary, but I'M STILL VERY EXCITED.
My first idea was about anti-smoking. I think cigarettes are a really bad thing and are very bad for your health. I also think that the more anti-smoking ads there are, the less people will smoke. I though tabout a lot of different ideas for this topic, but overall decided it wasn't for me.
My next idea was about animal abuse. I always see those sad dog commercials on tv, with the depressing music and the slow motion shots of dogs looking all sad and hungry, and I thought that I could do something like that. I live pretty close by the humane society so I have good acess to filming the animals, and I thought that the workers might even have some facts that I could use in a voice over. But, I didn't really like that idea.
Then, I hit the jackpot. Hold up. Before I start talking about my big idea, I know it sounds kinda generic but it's gonna be really good in the end, just trust me on this one. Ok, so I thought about making a PSA about self confidence. A lot of kids (especially my age) struggle with self confidence. I think that social media and society can really impact the way kids think, and how they feel about their physical appearance. After thinking about it for awhile, I started to kind of plan it out in my head. I want the finished product to be a suprise, so I won't give away much, but be excited.
Although I will miss working with Mia, I am very excited to start working on my PSA. I'm also very interested in seeing what my classmates come up with. I can't wait!!
Hola!! This weeks free blog in about Katy Perry's new song "Rise". I personally, am not a big fan of the song. But, they used this song for a "promo" sorta thing for the 2016 Rio Olympics. And it looks... REALLY, cool. They used old clips from past Olympics (from all sports) and some other cool clips from Rio to make a kind of inspirational promotional video. In a way, it's kinda like a convention recap. Anyways, I thought they angles and editing were really well done, and went a long with the music really nicely. Go check it out!! (even though they Olympics were like forever ago.)
Hola!! This weeks blog topic is another project update. I have been having a lot of fun working on this news story with Mia. So far we are pretty on top of it, but we plan to film about 2 more interviews and we still need to edit a little.
All quarter, Mia and I have been doing pretty good with keeping on track with our project. We started the 5W's, 5 Points, and T.I.A.'s pretty early and got our scripts done on time. But we didn't really start editing until like last week. Oops. But we have one rough cut and are working on a second one.
We also started shooting interviews really early. Because of that we didn't have very many porblems with footage. We had the occasional need of b-roll, but other than that we are sailing smoothly. We also had the privilege to interview a lot of people close to Dennis. So as far as filiming, we are all set.
With only a few weeks of school left, I hope Mia and I can pull through a great video. I can't wait until I get to do another news story next year!
Hola!! This weeks free blog is about filming interviews outside. While Mia and I were filming interviews for our second quarter project, we had a few problems finding good backrounds, and when we did the lighting was either to harsh in the backround or made their faces to dark. I was also looked ahead to quarter 3 and wanted to film some outdoor shots for my project. So, I thought that this would be a perfect blog tpoic. Anyways, I found an article on the "Big League Film School" website that is actually pretty helpful. I think if I find a good backround that the outdoor shots I use for my PSA will look awesome. Check it out down below!!
Hola!! This week's blog topic is very exciting. Its about my favorite holiday, Christmas. I love Christmas... a lot. I'm pretty sure everyone does actually. No school, presents, family time, good food, festive music, sweaters. It's pretttty awesome.
Reason number one: No school. WOOHOOOO!! Ok, ok school isn't that bad (most of the time) but it's nice to have a little break to just kinda chill and re-group. It also alows families to spend more time together (which is especially important during the holidays.) And, no school=no homework. The possibilities are endless...
Reason number two: SWEATERS. AND SOCKS. I LOVE SWEATERS AND SOCKS!! And jeans and leggings and winter things. It doesn' get very cold in Hawai'i but its still a little chilly sometimes. And winter clothes just make me feel so festive. I'm usually not very "girly" and this into clothes but like... fuzzy socks man.
Reason number three: music and movies. Holiday music makes me so excited its not even funny. Its like getting to jam with celebrities that are equally as excited about Christmas as you are. And holiday movies can be kinda cheesy, unless you find the good ones. Love Actually, Elf, The Nightmare Before Christmas, all the classic's.
There's nothing better than curling up (in a sweater) to watch movies (Love Actually) or listen to some music (All I Want For Christmas) or hang out with your family (presents) during the holidays. What's your favorite holiday?
Hola!! First things first HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!! This weeks blog topic is about what I'm thankful for. I'm a very lucky kid with a lot of things to be thsnkful for, but my top three have to be my family, friends, and taco bell.
I'm so super duper quadruple-ly happy to have such an amazing family. My parents are always very supportive of everything I want to do. They are always there for me and they are the reason I have a roof over my head and (good) food to eat. I'm also very thankful for my sisters. We may fight on occasion (or everyday) but I love them way to much to say mad at them for tooooo long. In the end I know that i can always count on them to have my back and make me laugh.
I don't know what I would do without my friends. And by friends I mean ALL THE MEDIA KIDS!! All of the media kids are like my Ohana and I'm so lucky that I get to be apart of media. School is never boring with those kids and I love having them in my life. Well, most of them... Just kidding ;).
Lastly, I'm very thankful for Taco Bell. It might not always be the best option health wise, but every once in awhile its pretty awesome. No one and nothing makes me happier than tacos. And at the end of a long, tiring, school-work filled day, tacos will be there for you. Waiting. To fill you up with happy warm goodness.
All silliness aside I have plenty of things to be thankful for. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving (and remember to tell your family and friends how thankful you are for having them in your life.)
Hola!! This weeks blog topic is about a video Mr. M recently made us watch. It's a PSA called Evan. WAIT, it is a really good video with a really good message, but I'm about to spoil it. So if you haven't seen it yet, watch it before reading this (it will be down below.) Ok, so this video "focuses" on Evan's story, but I really liked the way they managed to angle the camera so you could see the student who caused the shooting. It wasn't obvious at all (infact I was quite shocked) but when I watched the video a second time it was totally crazy to see him out in the open. Anyways, I took inspiration from these confusing but cool angles. This also gave me some inspiration for my third quarter PSA...
Hola!! This week’s assigned blog topic is kinda serious. In case you didn’t know, last week a new president was elected. Donald Trump. Although his opponent, Hillary Clinton, got more votes from the people, Donald Trump had more electoral votes. Now, I don’t know a lot about politics and all that stuff, but I did notice some things during this election.
First of all, this election was not very...nice. Whether you support Donald or Hillary it is clear to see that this election was dirty. Both candidates made and spread rumors, said foul things, and went a little crazy during debates. And I know that things can get competitive and all, but this was kind of intense. I personally think that both candidates should be embarrassed by their behavior, but I understand why they acted the way they did. I think it taught me to step back and look at the bigger picture, and to think about the things I say before saying them.
This election was also not very smooth. There were tons on tons of rumors spread about each candidate. If the rumors are true then I think it is important to address them, but making false rumors because you don’t like someone or what they stand for is just childish. It sounds like something kids my age would do, not adults.
I also think this election was interesting. VERY, interesting. Most people thought Hillary Clinton would take the cake, even some Trump supporters said even though they didn’t support Hillary they thought she would win. But in a total blindside, Donald Trump won. Donald was kind of leading during the whole voting process, but not by much. I guess people thought Hillary would just suddenly rise up and take the lead. But I guess this showed me that even in unlikely cases, you can still defy the odds.
This election was long, unexpected, and just plain mean. It will definitely go down in history as a crazy few months and an even crazier Election day.
Hola!! This week’s free blog is on a movie trailer! OK, ok, this movie came out in April. But, I didn’t know about it until now. ANyways, I think this movie is really cool. I’m not sure how, but the creators of the film manages to edit in huge, moss-covered, buildings into the movie. Throughout the movie a young boy is seeing all of these beautiful buildings, that look pretty realistic. The boy is also with wild animals the entire time! Once again, I don’t know how, but it looks pretty fancy. I think they edited them in, and if that’s the case then they did a really good job. Anyways aside from the pro editing skills, this movie actually looks pretty good. If you haven’t seen it already… GO WATCH IT!
